Check the Chip Day: Protect Your Pet with a Microchip
We know your pet is a cherished member of your family—and we want to make sure they can always find their way home if they ever get lost. Microchipping is one of the most effective, reliable ways to reunite pets with their families.
A microchip is a tiny device, about the size of a grain of rice, that’s placed just under the skin—usually between the shoulder blades. Each chip carries a unique identification number that’s registered to you, the pet’s owner, in a secure database. If your pet is ever found and scanned at a vet clinic or shelter, that number links directly back to you.
While we prefer to place microchips when pets are already sedated or under anesthesia (such as during a spay, neuter, or dental procedure), it’s quick and safe to do while your pet is awake. The injection is similar to a routine vaccination—no surgery, stitches, or downtime needed.
Just as important as placing the chip is keeping your contact information up to date. If you move, get a new phone number, or change email addresses, log in to your microchip registry to make those updates right away.
Not sure if your pet already has a microchip? Bring them in at your next appointment—we’ll scan them for free. It’s painless, takes only seconds, and if no chip is found, we can place one right away for lifelong protection.
This Check the Chip Day, take a moment to make sure your pet’s microchip is in place and your contact info is current. It’s a simple step that could make all the difference if the unexpected happens.
Because every pet deserves the best chance to come home.
