"Why I Bring My Cat to TRVH": A Chat with a Devoted Cat Parent
We recently sat down with Emily, a long-time client of Two Rivers Veterinary Hospital, to talk about her cat, Mochi—and why she chooses TRVH for her care. Mochi is a 7-year-old cat with a big personality and a serious dislike of car rides. Like many cat parents, Emily used to worry that bringing Mochi to the vet would be too stressful for both of them. But Dr. Abby Sullivan and TRVH changed her mind.
Q: What made you choose TRVH for Mochi’s care?
“I was really drawn to how calm and quiet the clinic feels. A lot of clinics feel chaotic, which can be overwhelming for cats. But TRVH is peaceful, and Dr. Abby is so gentle. She actually understands cats. It sounds simple, but it makes a big difference.”
Q: Do you feel Mochi gets care that’s tailored to her species and personality?
“Absolutely. Dr. Abby always approaches her slowly and lets her settle before starting anything. And she’s good about explaining what she’s doing, which helps me stay calm. That energy makes a big difference for Mochi. They also helped me understand why regular exams and vaccines are so important for indoor cats—something I didn’t fully realize before.”
Q: What’s one thing you’ve learned from your vet that changed the way you care for Mochi?
“I used to assume he was just a picky eater, but thanks to Dr. Abby, I learned that he had some mild dental disease. We started brushing his teeth (yes, it is possible with the right guidance!) and added a dental diet. Now his breath is better, and he eats happily. Preventive care really does matter—even when your cat seems ‘fine.’”
Q: Would you recommend TRVH to other cat owners?
“Without question. The whole team treats us with respect, and they truly care. They understand that cats aren’t small dogs—they need a different approach. TRVH makes vet visits less stressful and more informative. I honestly wouldn’t take Mochi anywhere else.”
At TRVH, we’re proud to offer feline-friendly care for cats of all ages, temperaments, and lifestyles. Whether your cat is a couch potato or a curious climber, we’re here to support their health with compassion and understanding.
